At Doodle Mountain, we are dedicated to breeding healthy, happy, and well-socialized puppies! As part of our breeding program, we sometimes have puppies available for rehoming through our Guardianship Program. This unique opportunity allows families to welcome a high-quality puppy into their home at no cost, while also helping us continue our mission of responsible breeding.
What is a Guardianship Home?
A guardianship home is a loving and responsible family that agrees to care for one of our breeding dogs as their own pet. The dog lives with the guardian family full-time and becomes a cherished member of their household. In return, the dog will participate in our breeding program for a specific period or a certain number of litters, as agreed upon in the guardianship contract.
Expectations of a Guardianship Family
Becoming a guardianship family is a rewarding experience, but it also comes with responsibilities and commitments. Here are the key expectations:
1. Loving Home Environment
Guardianship families must provide a loving, safe, and stable home environment for the dog. This includes regular exercise, proper nutrition, and plenty of attention and affection.
2. Health and Veterinary Care
The health and well-being of our dogs are our top priority. Guardianship families are responsible for routine veterinary care, including vaccinations, regular check-ups, and preventative treatments. Doodle Mountain LLC covers all breeding-related veterinary expenses.
3. Training and Socialization
We expect our guardianship families to invest time in training and socializing the dog. This includes basic obedience training, housebreaking, and ensuring the dog is well-mannered and comfortable in various environments.
4. Breeding Arrangements
When the dog is ready to breed, the guardianship family must make the dog available for breeding purposes. This involves coordinating with Doodle Mountain for health testing, breeding, and whelping. We will cover all expenses related to breeding and provide support throughout the process. All Guardianship families must live within 1 hour of Shiloh Georgia unless otherwise agreed upon.
5. Communication and Cooperation
Maintaining open communication with Doodle Mountain is essential. Guardianship families must keep us informed about the dog's health, behavior, and any significant changes. Cooperation during the breeding process is crucial to ensure the dog's well-being and the success of our program.

1. Free Healthy and Vetted Puppy
As a guardianship family, you receive a high-quality puppy at no cost. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring a beautiful and well-bred dog into your home without the initial expense! This is a savings of $1000-$4000 depending on the puppy. We provide genetic testing, and any additional testing required through the OFA. Doodle Mountain has spent the time, energy and upfront costs to find the best breeding dog and you have all of that for free!
2. Ongoing Support
We provide ongoing support and guidance to our guardianship families. Whether you have questions about training, health, or the breeding process, we are here to help every step of the way.
3. Part of the Doodle Mountain Family
By becoming a guardianship family, you join the Doodle Mountain community. You'll have the chance to connect with other guardianship families, share experiences, and be part of a network that values responsible breeding and the well-being of our dogs.
